Cala Nans Lighthouse Walk

One of our favorite walks in Cadaqués is along the south side of the bay to the Cala Nans lighthouse, the Far de Cala Nans in Catalan. Along the way, you´ll see one of the best dry stone bridges in the whole of the Cap de Creus, and some incredible views across the bay. Take your towel and swimming gear, because there is a top beach along the way.

Start out from the Platja Gran in Cadaqués (main beach) and head south with the sea to your left. Pass along the beach of Port Doguer and Es Llané and continue along the tarmacked road as it leaves the sea wall and heads up hill to the Hotel Rocamar. Once you pass the hotel on your left the road will wind back down to the sea and you´ll join the coastal route again. Take the track up the hill (along the coast) and you´ll pass some houses set into the hill side which will make you green with envy. Keep heading straight along the coast and you´ll head into the natural park (the first bit is quite steep, but its worth the haul).

You´ll meander around the headlands where you´ll be able to spot rocky coves and beaches below, untill eventually you will arrive at the lighthouse at the end of the Peninsular.

Remember to take plenty of water and a snack, especially in the summer months. Take it easy, and cool yourself off in the crystal clear water along the way if you start to feel the heat.
