Calella

Sitting in between Llafranc and Palamós lies Calella de Parafrugell (pronounced ka-ley-ah). This picturesque town is popular with the locals and offers good restaurants, clean beaches and a bustling atmosphere in the evenings- perfect if you want to sit down at one of the cafés that spill out onto the street and watch the world go by.

It´s a short, pleasant walk around the headland to Llafranc to the north, and there is a botanical gardens at Cap Roig to the south which is a must see. Along the coastal path from Calella to Cap Roig, you´ll pass little rocky coves which sandy beaches tucked away in between the headlands. You´ll pass some fantastic houses hidden away in the hillside above the path.

When we stay at Calella de Parafrugell, we stay at the Hotel San Roc, which overlooks the bay from the south. They´ve got a fantastic terrace. Even if you aren´t staying here, this is worth visiting to have a glass of Cava and soak up the view.
